Ranikot Hiking Resort is one of the scenic natural view places of Bhaktaputr district for relax, recreation and rejuvenate. It is ideally situated in south-east of Ranikot Vanjyang, which is 7km away from Suryabinayak Chowk and 17km from International Airport, Kathmandu.

You can reach Pilot Baba Aashram through Suryabinayak Temple in east-south direction, which is about 4km away from Suryabinayak Chowk. There lies Ghyampedada which is less than 1km away from Pilot Baba Aasharm. On the way one can enjoy a spectacular natural beauty in both sides of Ghyampedada through black tapped road, reach Ranikot Bhanjyang which is 2km away through gravel road, and also reach Manedovan, Panauti, Lakuri Bhanjyang and Aashapuri easily. Ranikot is a complete package of hiking, canyoning and scenery for any nature loving travelers. About 10 minutes walk from the peak of Ranikot Hiking Resort, one can see some remains of “Ranikot Palace” which was constructed in Malla Period. There are still protected monuments like Chuche Dhyga (Pointed Stone), Bagh Bhairab Temple, Ghodedada and “the well” where queen bath. One can enjoy a full picturesque view of entire Mt. Manasalu., Mt. Ganesh and Mt. Kanchanjunga from the palace. There are one thousand steps that have been made to reach the palace. Ranikot is renowned for canyoning, hence keep your eyes open for animals like tiger, jackal, deer, rabbit, porcupine and variety species of birds like fowl (kaalij/tittra), lamapuchhere, etc. In the east of Ranikot, there lies Aashapuri Mahadev, Phulchowki in the south, Doleshwor Mahadev (the head of Kedarnath) in the north and Suwarneshwor Mahadev in the west. This entire area is the best place from tourist’s point of view. There is a possibility of jungle safari, bird watching, biking, safari and cycling too.
